Q: How could a good God create death? Everything he created was good.

A: God said everything he created was good, he never said it was perfect. Death is part of God’s good creation, so it is good for us. Theology condemns where God does not, since the Bible never calls death a curse. Without death, the natural world would overpopulate quickly. Soon, no one would want children. How could we contemplate the afterlife? What would be the point of heaven?

Q: Why would a good God create sin? It is not good.

A: The first humans chose to disobey, but God set up the scenario that included temptation. He was in control. the Creator gave the first humans desires and rational minds. He did not hinder the actions of the people or the serpent. God is all knowing and all-powerful. If he did not want sin to exist, then it never would have existed. Human sin is not powerful enough to destroy what God made. Instead of condemnation, sin gives humanity the ability to think like God (Genesis 3:22). That is a good thing. Every day, we must choose between being good (God’s image) or being evil (Satan’s image). Every day, God will forgive each repentant sinner. Every time.
